Hello!

My name is Maria Katz.

A Simple Mission:

"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of

spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."

1 Peter 4:10 NLT

My mission is simple: to give. To be blessed with this creative gift, it is not mine to hold onto, but rather, it is my duty and joy to share it with others. Being raised with incredibly loving, nurturing and supportive parents,  I've seen how there's always something to give... and there's always enough.

At the end of the day, we all have something to give. Giving, with genuine kindness is about being kind to another soul while expecting nothing. I may give my art as a way to connect, while you may bake cookies for a neighbor.   Regardless, we all have something to give.

Early Life & Education:

Originally from Upstate New York, currently based in Tucson, Arizona, I have been a creator since a very young age. My amazing parents always gave me and my sisters all that they had... and more! Alongside my beautiful and talented mother, our connection was built through the moments that she gave me her heart and time which included lessons in learning how to crochet, to knit, to sew and how to see the world through a creative lens. Today, my art honors everything that my parents provided me.

After graduating with a Bachelors of Fine Art as well as a Masters in Art Education from Syracuse University, I was an art teacher for over 15 years. While the reward of teaching came from my student’s eagerness to engage, recognize, relate and reflect on the classical masterpieces, my teaching style was a formal and historically approach based on interpretation of the Masters (Michelangelo, da Vinci, Monet, van Gogh, Seurat, Rembrandt, Picasso, etc...).

My art room was the place that allowed me to guide my students into how to look at art, how to analyze art, how to talk about art, and most importantly- how to create art.  Through all the years I taught art, I am proud of how I was able to connect with my students to develop the skills & techniques needed for them to develop their own individual creativity.

Skill & Design:

“I take pride in that I am able to connect, collaborate and create meaningful art that will preserve a moment, honor a memory and give those elements a place to stay both

in your heart and in your home.”- Maria Katz

Inspiring my students to break boundaries, while they’d expand and explore their own creativity, inspired me to do the same within myself as well as with my art. It was through constant learning, experimenting and broadening my skills that allowed me to claim my technique and skill into a business.

While my art honors the process of production with intention and connection, the versatility in my art, my technique and my styles, comes from the intersection of my fine art skills and thoughtful design to form a fascinating fusion with my hands, my head and my heart- as well as a thriving business.

My art goes beyond what you see on the surface- it’s the transfer of something deeper. It’s the unspoken moment, memory or emotion that you may want to preserve. I take pride in that I am able to connect, collaborate and create meaningful art that will preserve a moment, honor the memory and give those elements a place to stay both in your heart and in your home.

Deeply connected to the production process, each painting involves a slow and deliberate collaboration of heart and hand for a thoughtful composition, however big or small the painting may be.

The History of a Business:

“Independently producing and promoting my artwork

allows me to preserve my own artistic freedom

while building meaningful relationships with clients and collectors. This more personalized experience not only ensures authenticity but also reflects my commitment to a distinctive artistic merge for me and my clients. My returning clients and referrals is a testament to this philosophy."
-Maria Katz

While in graduate school, I was able to attend the National Stationery Show in New York City at the Javits Convention Center three years in a row, where I was exposed to a world of beautiful papers, gifts and art. In 2000, committed to become an art teacher, I was also inspired and motivated to start my own business and offer my fine art, hand painted stationery and gifts on a broader scale by hosting evening and weekend home shows.

What began as doodles and sketches in the margins of my textbooks and filled the pages of my sketchbooks, those designs organically evolved organically from everyone who encouraged, inspired and motivated me and my style. Overtime, I was able to expand and evolve those into simple, whimsical designs into a sophisticated and elegant business that has filled the walls of homes and businesses across the country.

The continued success of my business lies in the ever evolving versatility of style and design that it provides while maintaining a level of elegance that has found a place of appeal in many private home collections, galleries and shops across the country.

So, whether you’re starting your own art collection or seeking a unique piece to elevate a space in your home, my fine art paintings are investments that can be cherished and shared for generations to come.

Blessings,

-Maria Katz
